Lost studio version of “Subways of Your Mind” found and other Mysterious Music updates

Hope everyone is off to a fantastic 2025. I wanted to give everyone an update. There’s some good news and some bad news…

The good news: The missing high-quality studio version of “Subways of Your Mind” (formerly “The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet”) was found and officially released earlier this week. While the mystery was solved in November 2024, including demo and live recordings from the band FEX to prove they were the creators of the song, the studio version that Darius taped off the radio was still missing. This caused concern that an official high-quality version of the song that we all know and love might never be released. Some of us were preparing to continue listening to the version taped off the radio 40 years ago for an eternity. However, over the holidays, the high-quality version was found! So, that was basically the last piece of the puzzle and the case of “Like the Wind” has officially come to an end. To learn more about how the higher quality studio version was found, please read this Reddit post.

The bad news: As stated in my 11/04/2024 YouTube post in response to “The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet” being solved, I wrote:

Yes, I’ll make a video… eventually. When? I don’t know. There will come a time when I’ll crack a script for a video that expresses how much this journey, this channel, the Lostwave community and subscribers mean to me.
Well, I cracked the script a couple weeks ago and had since been editing an upcoming video for Mysterious Music. However, a lot of it focused on the studio version still being lost. Now that it’s been found, the episode I was making has become obsolete. As such, production on the next Mysterious Music episode has been canceled. So, it’s back to the drawing board.
Given that many of this channel’s viewers subscribed because of videos on the topic of “The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet”, I really wanted my next video to be about the song. Unfortunately, after making content about Lostwave for over five years, the subject has just become too topical for the way I operate. Because I work alone, have other creative outputs (did you know I’m also an author?), family obligations, and am admittedly a bit of a perfectionist, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to work on videos about any topic that can be considered developing.
I wanted to explain why you may have noticed a reduction in my output, and the reason behind videos being less and less related to Mysterious Music. There will be more Mysterious Music episodes, but the next few videos I’m posting will be unrelated.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. As always, keep your mind, eyes and ears open; spread the love and magic of music; and thanks, as always, for watching!
